Frequently asked questions
Can shareholders or members vote from anywhere?
Yes. Once you open a vote, every eligible voter receives a secure link and can vote from any device, wherever they are. There is nothing to install and no account for the voter to create.
How do we set the majority needed to pass a resolution?
When you build a resolution you choose the pass threshold. Presets cover a simple majority above 50 per cent, two thirds, three quarters, or you can set a custom percentage. The presets are quick selectors that match common requirements, not legal defaults. Your articles and rules decide what threshold applies.
Is the ballot genuinely secret?
Yes. The platform enforces a true secret ballot. The system records that a person has voted, to prevent duplicate votes, but keeps that separate from the ballot itself, so no administrator, officer or Choice Voting staff member can see how anyone voted.
Can someone independent oversee the count?
Yes. A separate scrutineer role lets an independent person oversee the process without being able to change it, and every result carries a full audit trail and a downloadable report you can share with your board or auditors.
Can we reach directors or members who prefer to vote on paper?
Yes. Postal and hybrid voting can be enabled on request, so members who cannot or will not vote online are still counted in the same vote. It is disabled by default and set up with our team.
How quickly do we get the result?
Online votes are counted the moment voting closes. The result appears on your dashboard straight away with turnout, a full breakdown and a downloadable audit trail. Where a vote includes postal ballots, the result is ready once the last paper ballot is recorded.
